My son Derek turns another calendar year today March 22 2026. He is a ripe old 30. Unfortunately, due to some severe poisoning by his now deceased mother all related to her Scientology religion, I have not heard from Derek since Oct 8 2015, the day his mother died. It had been reported that she made a death bed wish to all of our children that they never communicate with me. The church she belonged called it disconnection. Nonetheless, I have always maintained love for Derek and his siblings and wish him the happiest of birthdays.
On another note, tax season has moved along at great speed and there is now just a few weeks left to file on time. If you cannot file on time, you can file for an automatic extension of 6 months by using form which can be done here IRS Free File (Form 4868): Use IRS Free File at IRS.gov/freefile to electronically submit Form 4868, Application for Automatic Extension of Time to File U.S. Individual Income Tax Return.
Remember, any tax owed is due April 15th 2026 and late payment penalties and interest will accrue. You can minimize such by making a payment for the 2025 tax year ended 12/31/25 on or before April 15th the deadline. This can be done …Go to IRS.gov/payments and select “Direct Pay”.
