Big Day...NO, HUGE!!!

This Monday, January 20, 2025 is a big day…someone might say it is HUGE!!!

Donald J. Trump will be inaugurated for his 2nd term as President of the United States and become #47. It was an amazing comeback overcoming massive obstacles both legal and otherwise in order to bring his majority win to reality. Despite the actual hatred that clearly exists, Trump is one hell of a popular Man and again President.

I am very pleased about Trump's success and believe it may have saved the Nation. Saved the Constitution. But we have 4 years of governing ahead and that will be the history and legacy left behind for us to judge. I am hopeful.

The first 100 days are reportedly all set to hit from day one with over 150 Executive Orders awaiting signature. That alone can do wonders to restore some sense back into our lives and coincidentally get the Biden era officially declared dead. The Oligarchy thing Biden warned against in his final days was in fact HIS Oligarchy, so he is correct. Will that end? It is doubtful from all the ass kissing I see from the wealthy who just a short time ago worked together to suppress Trump, MAGA and the 1st Amendment so willingly. Sure, they are doing what always is done, CYA. But if they are in their change supporting Trump's direction well, I can live with that for now. It is a major improvement. The return of an America that uses common sense is promised and I will actively watch for any that shows up.

I anticipate the rather immediate change will be apparent and positive. I also believe most of the change will be social in nature. Things like getting back to only 2 genders without defiling the free choice of others preferring a 3rd or a 4th is likely. Get bio men out of women's sports please. Maybe a 3rd league for Transgender sports will arise if they can sell tickets. We shall see. But the 1st Amendment will see improvement and I suspect that Freedom in general will improve for most. The wealth gap is less likely to be effected by Trump, though I do think he is aware of it as a problem and would like to see it improved. How much Trump is a true Free Market guy is undetermined in my opinion. Will he be the same old same old using big government or perhaps a smaller big government to prevent the natural occurrences that happen to stupid people? Will building multi mullion dollar house on the ocean or in a forest or wherever a disaster can happen is not a problem for tax payer money to resolve. I already see him caving on the SALT rules…because a state has high income tax and is poorly run does not make it right to have others pay for their mismanaged affairs underwriting their tax deduction of high state taxes. Trump is a populist so we should not be surprised he trying to remain popular. But even so, he is a big improvement.

The financial condition of the country is not an easy fix, if it can be fixed at all. Trump is an acclaimed expert on BK, Bankruptcy and I have heard talk of him being the President who will usher it in for the USA and reorder things focused on internal affairs. His new External Revenue Service is amusing and I can't wait to see what takes shape. Now, if he eliminated the Internal Revenue Service and replaced it with a new flat tax system, I'd be a fan. Will that happen? No. Will Trump agree to austerity and stop the deficit spending cold in its tracks? No. Will Trump put us on a gold standard to restore faith in the USD and get the Bonds worth buying again? No. These big problems are unlikely to be addressed and they are on a Collison course with other countries who Trump seems to handle with Tariff threats. I see some as warranted and a way to even out unfair trade practices, but threatening tariffs on anyone supporting a system nit based on the USD is not the way of the peacemaker. In fact currency wars often precede hot kinetic wars so that in my view is a slippery slope. That Judy Shelton has his ear is a very good thing and maybe Bessant at Treasury will help improve the fiscal dominance that IS the root of our inflationary problems. We shall see. Bessant is no Yellen, and thank God for that.

Yes, Trump is the better choice and I am glad he is our President. I expect some very good things, things that will bring a smile for their simple common sense I expect. The real task though is to recover a USA that produces first and spends later and then only in balance with its income whether Internal or External. A balanced budget is not synonymous with Trump. He did spent like a drunken sailor too, factually raising the National Debt by $7T, no small increase. With so much baked in already, he has his hands full to get DOGE to have any real effect. I sure hope they try.

I congratulate Trump and welcome his national influence. Staying true to his campaign will not be easy. But if toughness is the quality needed, he has that in spades and is right now, a National Treasure.

Best,
