Born to be Contrarian

A contrarian is a person who for whatever reason(s) takes an opposite view. It can be opposite to a popular thought, news items, educational data or just Uncle Mitch at the Sunday dinner table. Contrarians have their place in our society and interactions by posing questions and/or disagreements. Those with open minds might listen and agree or hold firmly to their own viewpoints. This is the First Amendment in action. Unfortunately, the First Amendment has its detractors. In fact, in the current administration, it has been under attack. Censorship is now a norm and of course it is illegal and Unconstitutional when it's the Fed doing it.

How does one becomes a contrarian? well, I suppose it ha its genus in observation. One who observes for himself and makes credible decisions etc. based upon personal observations will inevitably find himself to be in contrast to the edicts of the norm. These may come from big Pharma, or the Medico on the take, or corrupt media, education and even teacher's unions. But the main source of goofy edicts as to what is true or not comes from our own government. It is through its various agencies, especially the so called “intelligence” agencies that the greatest plans are launched. It is self serving and self protective. At this late time in the pandemic debacle it is hardly unknown that there was a lot of bullshit flying about and contrarians were demonized, deplatformed and demonetized in an attempt to kill them or at least their voice. Sounds like a crazed husband who goes after his wife's new lover because he is so inferior and won't own up…Hmm, could it be that simple? Yes, it is a serious case of jealousy over the narrative and control it brings over the populace who is thought to be stupid. 

I have been blessed with a healthy endowment of skepticism. I find it easy to question sources and especially experts who tout great hidden knowledge. I fell for one myself when becoming a Scientologist. After quite a few years of personal experience both good and bad and finally some squint eyed looking at it from a new perspective of “maybe it is not what it says it is”. I resigned once I took the subject to task by asking simple questions and never getting simple answers, if any. That church too had a terrible case of jealousy and in that, wanted to censor its members. They even went so far as to run a ruse giving CDs to load on member PCs supposedly to help fight disinformation when in fact it kept members from reaching certain unapproved web sites with contrary views on Scientology. It became known as Scinositter. Cute. I wonder of the Fed watched that and took it as their platen.

Popping out of something previously firmly adhered to, almost like gravity, is a real experience. Eye opening with angelic revelation. It can in an instant make one feel dumb and at the same time completely renewed and free. I took my action to voluntarily resign in November of 2000 after 35 years of being a member. I could easily say that Scientology ruined my life but I don't go that route. I was present in all decisions about it and thereby bear the ultimate responsibility. Akin to the person being robbed on the street at gunpoint, I was victimized. But to the degree that this person was there, he must bear that responsibility.  True victims are only the really stupid or truly innocent like children in most cases. I was not innocent but complicit because I wanted every nuance of what was promised to be true so I could be right about it. That is a classic state of affairs in the con game.

Some half a million dollars later, I resigned. A bit hurt but so much wiser and brighter. such educations needn't be so costly but mine happened that way. Oh well, an excellent education in humility.

The contrarian in me helped me resign. It still helps me in daily life. Its almost an instinct and valuable one for survival. There is no harm in being contrarian and then changing to agreement when good solid evidence is presented. I always remain flexible but I will add that it is rare. The essence of my contrarian nature is shown in all of the questions I ask. When confronted with a don't dare ask response, it acts as proof that my instinct is correct. And when it is the so called experts and high priests saying don't ask, well I just dismiss everything they say from then on. I do believe this has happened and continues to happen in the US populace as pertains to the US Government. Trust is gone!!! It won't be an easy job regaining trust but we must try. We must find new representatives that we can agree with who are truly representing their constituents or we will lose this nation to something ugly. We must also punish or at least discredit nd banish the liars and cheaters in government. We are in some deep doo doo now, more so than ever in my lifetime, so complacency is not a plan. This is a time to seriously observe and discern for yourself. A time to bone up on being a contrarian not a republican or democrat. As I've observed, both are terrible at governing and both lie without regret. 

John Adams said, “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” Morality and virtue are the foundation of our republic and necessary for a society to be free.

Let's get back to that. FAST!
