Comprehensive Approach to a More Aggressive IRS

The writing is on the wall…the IRS is heading toward a more aggressive stance in collecting taxes. If the 87,000 new armed agents isn't enough to raise your eyebrows then you might as well shave them off.

Let me be clear here; the IRS is gearing up to do battle against every working taxpayer and we best get prepared.

As I've previously written, the IRC and the thousands of rules and regulations used is designed to get COMPLIANCE. If you do not comply you will be punished. It is my opinion that criminal IRS investigations and prosecutions is about to rise sharply. Your financial well being and other aspects of survival are at stake.

I have never advocated breaking the law in order to reduce taxation. My position has always been to pay as little tax as possible using the law. Even then we must all be prepared for a fight. I used to think that the IRS had some handcuffs in law and procedure,  but that thought is fading away. A recent gun shop was raided by 20 heavily armed IRS agents NOT ATF, and with a warrant in hand they took all of the forms used when purchasing firearms. This data is perfect for use in a National Database Registry of gun owners. What the hell is the IRS doing? Compliance work is the answer. Such raids among others is an intimidation tactic and trust me, it works by chilling both sellers and buyers. I suppose this is Biden's whole of government approach in play. Well, it stinks.

As long as we have written laws, and a working Justice system we know the curbs to stay within. My recommendation is to adopt a war footing and operate under high alert to this clear and present danger.

 We do this by:

  • Knowing and Understanding the Tax Law, rules and regulations
  • Maintaining written records of all transactions
  • Keeping and maintaining written support for all deductions taken
  • Having good legal tax assessments for potential challenged items
  • Utilizing the tools available to stay abreast of current tax court decisions https://www.ustaxcourt.gov/find_an_opinion.html#:~:text=Each%20day%CA%BCs%20opinions%20are%20posted,under%20%E2%80%9COrders%20%26%20Opinions%E2%80%9D.
  • Have the best team you can get which will include both accountants and lawyers
  • Assign all responsive communication to IRS letters etc., to your Accountant/Lawyer team
  • Working with your Accountant, design an actionable plan to reduce taxation considering the fact that employees are in the worst position to reduce taxation while business owners, landlords, Investors are far better off.
  • Learn more about wealth building strategies to better be able to fund serious challenges (there is nothing wrong with a quick read of Robert Kiyosaki's best seller Rich Dad Poor Dad)
  • Apply the principle that tax time is a year round activity
  • Apply the Principle that the IRS is an enemy to your money and perhaps more
  • Adopt a position of no fear but rather readiness for whatever is thrown at you …be organized
  • Read Read Read to be better informed and try alternative reliable news sources

On the political front, support candidates that espouse a flat tax like consumption taxes or a National Sales Tax eliminating the need for the IRS. I will not mind being put out of the tax prep business.

These among many other stances will help you be prepared for what I believe is a new phase in the IRS's oppression against taxpayers. No, they're not all bad, but you have to wonder why anyone would choose to work for such an organization. There are some people that enjoy the intimidation and making others shake in their boots. There were many of these types in the Nazi concentration camps. Is that fair? You bet your social security number tattooed ass it is.

Stay sharp. Times are dangerous.

Best,

Donn Marier
