Some of you know that I enjoyed a long earlier life career writing and producing music. AS every young composer and musician, we all have our favorites who inspire us. I have many. Being an old Italian myself, I have a fondness for Ennio and other contemporary Italian composers. In Ennio's case, he created a genre of music that is copied world wide and oddly enough it is has a western (USA Western) bent. Whatever it was that inspired him, he nailed it and with genuine class using both traditional classical orchestration and elements of the campfire on the range with a touch of sinister 6 guns blazing away.
This isn't an obituary column, but I just wanted to give Ennio a nod as he leaves us. He will be missed in all circles.
