OK, so President Trump and Iran have signed a MOU (Memorandum of Understanding. It seems to be a capitulation document being touted as the “greatest win of the century” or pick your own superlatives.
I am not the first nor will I be the last to point out that nothing was won as Trump says. Rather, the US lost this 4 month war on all fronts from my analysis.
Here is an over view:
- Before the War began on Feb 28, 2026 the Straight of Hormuz was open
- The war closed the Straight
- 52 aircraft and countless lives and property lost later it is open again
- The Nuclear Material is still in the hands of Iran
- $300 Billion is now guaranteed as reparations or a beginning of them
- Israel says it will not honor the agreement in regards to Hizballah/Lebanon
- 60 days from now the agreement is uncertain
This is no exhaustive so adding more is easy and up to you.
I see the entire war as a frustrating and prostrtaing event for the USA. Trump made a big mistake, an unforced error, going to war with Iran, primarily at the behest of Israel because there was no observable National Security Interest. Oh, the nukes yous say? No nukes exist nor was Iran refusuing inspections of its nuclear enrichment. Now Trump says they have the right to enrich for power stations etc whereasit is another “change of heart” Trump voiced after using that subject as a reason to bomb them into the stone ages. Good one.
When it comes to wasteed time, money and lives Trump is in a class of his own. Indeed huge.
Having voted for Trump, I am needless to say, disappointed. In my opinion he will lose Congress and possibly the Senate in the mid terms. That will not stop hsi EOs though, so more bad decisions are potentiallay to come. Thibs is not Trump bashing but more another episode of bad politicians doing bad things and hurting their own people. Perhaps the hegonamy waning is the catalyst. History says that waning powers get crazy and do all manner of carzy things as they flale their once great arms asserting how powerful they are. They aren't. Real power is quiet and pereceived. The louder we get, the weaker we look. That is my viewpoint.
