I will keep this brief.
I am thrilled that Trump was elected!
His Cabinet will be consequential and I am looking forward to his unique picks and quick congressional approvals etc.
The big winner is the Citizenry. We win for the improved 1st amendment environment and that alone is enough. But we also win in the hopefully successful deportation of illegal immigrants, especially the criminals. We further win with drill baby drill bringing energy costs down and helping not eliminating inflation.
The idea of Musk trimming government is a big deal. But he can only go for efficiencies within certain confines and nit effect the baked in entitlements etc. We still will have deficit spending and since Trump will want low interest rates, I am afraid the Fed will be buying our bonds and feeding inflation using printed money to buy them. We are in deep doo doo financially and only a very tough and likely very unpopular approach will right the ship. Pain for the current generations is inevitable if the future generations are to be solvent.
I think Trump is an historic figure. His 2nd presidency can be historic too, but only if he sees that his personal popularity should take a back seat to his real legacy…SOLVING THE FINANCIAL CRISIS created by years of fiscal malpractice by the political class.
This financial crisis is a bipartisan guilt. Improvements around the fringes in discretionary spending will not solve it. Trump has no more election cycles so this is his chance to be a truly great forward thinking President. I am on his side
