Like many others, I watched the Trade Center attach on 9-11-2001 as it happened. It was about as surreal an event as I have ever witnessed. The unreality of it gradually sank in to be Reality. It changes so much.
I recall looking to the sky which was void of the usual jet traffic and an eerie calm was present. The horror to this in the WTC remains unimaginable. They became front line casualties that day in a war that has recently ended so poorly and disgracefully. The brave first responders who rushed in as others rushed out will never be forgotten. We must remember them.
The airwaves are filled with remembrances and platitudes but that's OK because the essence of it is that we do remember.
The hatred of the USA as the Great Satan and Infidel spawned the men who were willing to carry out the heinous attach. And this all in the name of and for the greater glory of Ala. It is not. It is hatred. It is criminal. It is despicable. It is insane.
For 20 years we have been vigilant and had no recurrence on US soil. Now the current administration seems to see more threat from its own Citizens than from the genuine terrorists. We've been infiltrated and don't believe otherwise. The USA was once the bastion of Freedom and a beacon to all who wanted it. That beacon has dimmed and the world is worse off for it. We can restore this Nation and again be that bastion and beacon of Freedom. It will take a great uprising of the American Spirit. I'm in.
I am humbled by and so damn thankful for the great patriots who have came before. Thank you in Eternity!
